I find that talent of music/singing does not really matter if are a fantastic singer or not, it is the way they create stories with their voice, how they wrap their vocals into the words, entwine it with meaning. The words may not mean much to you the listener, it may not make any sense, but the way they use their voice to make you feel emotion, to realise the importance of the words is paramount. The singer is sharing with the world their hopes,fears, past loves, losses and helping others that have had the same experience.
To make the listener feel while listening to the song, is what makes music.
Florence and the Machine is not the best singer in the world, but she uses the strengths in her voice to make something new and original.
Adele is another artist who uses her voice in such a way that it can bring you tears.
Music is not something that should be put into a one way stream, it is experimental, and volatile.
