New life

Vicky, this morning went into labour, the baby is coming one day early. I have not had a message yet saying whether it has been born, or what sex it is, I may go on Fb later to see if anyone has found out.

I will be one of the Godmothers of this child. I didn't really think about it, intill today, that I will have to be a good role model for this child. I hope that I will be able to influence it in some way, so as to make it a good, person, one with values, and morals.
I have been thinking, that on the days, when Vicky and Simon (Matt) want a day to themselves, and I get to look after the baby, all of the places that I will take him/her. The park, the beach, go on picnics in random fields, go on walks, and perhaps, if I ever get a car, take him/her to the farm, to meet the animals.
In my mind, for a child to have an animal, makes it less selfish from a young age, gives a child responsibility, but in a fun, rewarding way.
I hope the baby will look up to me, and when it is a teenager, to know that I am there for them, to chat to and confide in. To be their friend as well as his/her parents friend.

I don't know, being a Godmother, seems a little daunting, but still to know that I will be able to give them some knowledge of the world, and some comfort when needs be, I think this will be very satisfying.
